As well as having an excellent array of caravan parks (see the descriptions of towns and villages, as well as the Caravan Park listing on the home page) the North-east also has an excellent range of bush camps.

Details of these camps can be found in our touring routes (as shown on the Main Menu) and in the various National, State and Regional Parks of the North-east (also shown on the Main Menu).

There are also some rest areas, where you can camp for free, for short periods of time (usually no more than 23 hours).

Some of these venues (for example, the riverside camp at Oxley) assume that you have a fully self-contained rig; that is, that you have a toilet on-board, and will not be creating a hygiene problem for locals, and/or the next campers.

See the excellent book Free Camps Australia (published by Australian Fishing Network) for a comprehensive listing of Bush Camps all over Australia. Click here for details.
