LAKE CATANI
(www.northeastvictoria.online)
Lake Catani is a small but very picturesque lake high on the Buffalo Plateau in the heart of Mount Buffalo National Park. The National Park and Lake Catani are accessed via the Great Alpine Road (B500) and the small township of Porepunkah, 68km south-east of Wangaratta.
The Lake offers excellent canoeing in an alpine environment, and is accessible during spring, summer and autumn.
The camping ground on the lakeshore makes a convenient base, although bookings may be required in peak periods; most people stay at one of the excellent camp parks in Porepunkah.
