MOUNT BEAUTY WALKS

This enjoyable 3.6km riverside walk [AWTGS-1] starts at the Jack Herbele rotunda, just on the Mount Beauty side of the West Kiewa River.

From here, follow the sealed walking path over the spillway of the regulating pondage, and continue downstream for about 1.6km, where there is a fork in the pathway.

Veer left here, and follow the path as it makes a large loop around back to the fork, and from here it's time to step it out for the return journey to the rotunda.

Highlights of this great walk include many excellent river views, lots of shade, and some nicely situated benches to take time out, and maybe have a snack and a drink.

[An extension of this walk leads from the mid-point of the actual loop, towards the confluence of the West and East Kiewa Rivers; head north at the fork in the loop pathway, and follow this through to the turn-around point. This gives a ‘there-and-back’ walk of about five kilometres, as measured from the Park at the start.]
